Genesius Pictures develops and produces quality film and television working with established and emerging talent. The company was co-founded by Producer Debbie Gray and Executive Producer Julian Gleek following their success together on BAFTA nominated and award-winning film Northern Soul. Our most recent films include The More You Ignore Me; written by BAFTA winner Jo Brand and Mrs Lowry and Son starring Timothy Spall and Vanessa Redgrave. Genesius currently has a number of feature films, documentaries and television shows in development.
Genesius now works with theatre production company Moya in developing financing and producing Intellectual Properties that can be exploited across stage, film and television.
Julian Gleek – Chairman
Julian brings a wealth of business knowledge to the team, with a very successful background in property. He has been the Finance Director, and then Managing Director, of the Burford Group of Companies for over 25 years.
Julian was also executive producer of the feature film Effie Gray starring Dakota Fanning, Emma Thompson and Robbie Coltrane, the BAFTA nominated and NME Best Film Award winning Northern Soul, and is the Executive Producer across all Genesius projects.
Julian’s commercial experience is a valuable asset to the team and ensures a consistent, analytical approach to deals and oversees the investment of our funds.
Debbie Gray – Managing Director
Debbie is a Producer and Executive Producer with over 20 year’s experience in Film, Television and Music, having produced for the BBC, ITV, SKY and C4. Debbie produced the BAFTA nominated and award-winning film Northern Soul and has produced the 8 films Genesius have produced in the last four years to include critically acclaimed, The More You Ignore Me; written by BAFTA winner Jo Brand and Mrs Lowry and Son starring Timothy Spall and Vanessa Redgrave.
Jon Exton – Executive Producer
Jon is a Film Producer and Corporate Finance Consultant based in the City of London where he specialises in raising finance for films and documentaries as well as sourcing venture and other forms of capital for developing businesses. With Genesius Pictures Jon is an Executive Producer on Mrs Lowry and Son.
Sam Cornish – Associate Producer
Sam graduated from the Cambridge School of Art in 2014. Prior to joining Genesius, Sam free-lanced within the industry for two years working mainly in production on TV, film & commercials. With a strong interest in drama and narrative filmmaking, Sam assists with all major projects and releases on the Genesius slate, most recently The More You Ignore Me and Mrs Lowry and Son.
Caitlin Albery Beavan – Associate Producer
Caitlin is an experienced theatre producer who founded Moya Productions in 2012 with Aron Rollin and Tom Miller. They have produced many shows together, most notably: Philip Ridley’s Shivered at the Southwark Playhouse (nominated: Best New Play at the WhatsOnStage Awards), Third Finger, Left Hand by Dermot Canavan starring Imogen Stubbs, Mrs Lowry & Son by Martyn Hesford and Boa by Clara Brennan, Starring Harriet Walter (all at the Trafalgar Studios).
Caitlin is now transferring her skills to film after co-producing Mrs Lowry & Son, starring Vanessa Redgrave and Timothy Spall.
Pamela Holt – Production Accountant
A fully qualified accountant Pamela first joined the accountancy profession in 1973 before going on to work for professional accountancy firms until 1994. Pamela then left to become Managing Partner of a video production company, a position that she still holds today. Since 2012 Pamela has worked as production accountant on all Genesius Pictures films.
